"True" was the third single released from the 1983 Spandau Ballet album of the same name. The single reached #1 in both the U.K. and Ireland, but in Australia, it climbed to #4 on the national singles chart.

On the B side of this Australian pressing is a U.S. remix of their earlier single called "Lifeline". It's only a dub remix and does not contain any continuous vocals from the original song.  The cover art was designed and illustrated by David Band. It features an ascending dove in full flight, moving at haste towards the sky, while a sullen figure watches silently from a door way.  The typopgraphy on the both sides of the cover was designed by Stephen Horzfall for OLR Ltd.


The release of this single placed Spandau Ballet on the map and made them icons in the 80s pop world. In Australia, it became one of their most memorable and most recognisable pop songs. In essence, it has transcended time and across the generations managing significant airplay on major radio stations still today.
