80s-Wizard:

"No Say In It" was the lead single released in 1984, nine months ahead of the Machinations album "Big Music" in 1985. Much later, it appeared on the soundtrack album to the 1986 U.S. movie "Ruthless People", staring Bette Midler and Danny DeVito.  The single reached #14 on the Australian Singles Charts but failed to chart internationally.

The B Side is a song called "Man Over Board" which is not featured on the album.  It's a slow synth pop ballad that verges on reggae or ska and, could almost be mistaken as a Bryan Ferry single. The artwork designer of the 7" single picture sleeve is unknown, unfortunately no credits are available on the cover.

"No Say In It" was played regularly on radio across the country and became a favourite at school dances and blue light discos, mostly because of it's danceable pop sound that instantly appealed to younger audiences at the time.

The song became Machinations most sucessful single to date and has a special place in Australia's 80s funk music history, alongside other Australian funk based dance groups; Rockmelon, Models and I'm Talking.  A copy of the 7" vinyl single can be found below.
